Dude, I so claimed Tim Gunn months ago. Okay, maybe it was more like a pocket-sized version of him so I could carry him in my purse but, same thing…

And I hope you get a camera! Though I won’t be able to share lenses with you if you get the Nikon. If you get the Canon Rebel XT–cheaper if you just buy the body instead of the kit–I could give you my kit lens. And Chris has all the fancy lenses to play with.

Huh… see, this is what I mean by “knowing nothing about photography.” Thanks for the tip, I doubt I’ll ever have an SLR (soy broke-o) but I’ll keep that in mind if I ever inherit a bunch of money.

You should go with the D50 and not the 40. They wanted to make the D40 lighter so they took out the autofocus in the camera so now it is only in the lens. It makes the camera lighter but it means you can’t auto focus if you buy a lens that doesn’t have autofocus. So..if you go buy a cool retro lens or something you’ll be stuck manually doing everything…
